Pure Blue Japan, the epitome of honest craft and sincere construction. It gives us great pride to announce the 20 year collaboration celebrating PBJ's 20 years in all things Selvedge. The process began with the fabric. While similar in aesthetic to the fabric used on the XX-012, this is a proprietary fabric built from scratch for exclusive use on this 20 year collaboration. The Warp is the same yarn used for the warp of the XX-18oz-013, and the Weft is a softer 14oz Indigo yarn, resulting in a fabric that has ample potential for high contrast fades while not being overly coarse in texture. Packed with enough meticulous details to incite goosebumps, launching this 20 year collection is our proudest moment to date.

We knew we wanted the leaf to tell a story, so after adjusting the color scheme during sampling about 7-8 times, we settled on a tonal indigo leaf, leaving the dotted Selvedge salute unchanged and adding a touch of gold in the leaf to celebrate the 20 year mark. The pocket bag and leather patch is where we were able to let loose, and brought in artist and PBJ superfan, Nathan Spoor, for the design. If we may say, his free hand pocket design slays. Finally, the standard lambskin leather patch is replaced by a commemorative patch cut from extra thick nude cowhide to allow for patina to develop in tandem with the appearance of denim fades. 

The relaxed tapered has a lengthier front rise, a wider thigh and aggressive taper from the knee down creating a highly aesthetically pleasing silhouette, while still being entirely comfortable. 

Like many of Pure Blue Japan's jeans, the fabric is of a low-tension shuttle loom, thus featuring the slubby and hairy feeling fabric common to Pure Blue Japan denim. The production of these jeans are constant through out every year in several different batches because the production ouput of the fabric is very limited.

Due to limited production capacity of the fabric, we are accepting pre-orders to ensure that anyone interested will be guaranteed a pair. Please note that pre-order's will be accepted up until December 26th, 2017, after which this pair may be available for purchase in March 2018 if supply permits.
