The Flat Head 23oz. Indigo Dyed Heavyweight Thermal

This is simply put, the eptiome of heavyweight thermals - bar none.  Pushing the boundaries of traditional knitwear, this garment is woven using an ultra-heavy 23oz. thermal fabric (close to double the weight of conventional thermal fabrics). Additionally, this garment is made from rope-dyed indigo yarns that will develop a deep, beautiful patina with wear.

The fabric is produced on a specialized machine capable of knitting exceptionally thick materials, resulting in a dense, textured surface that feels more like a sweater than a typical thermal. Unlike classic waffle thermals, this piece offers a unique balance of structure and stretch, providing excellent moisture absorption and breathability.

Beneath the design lies one of The Flat Head’s signature technical achievements: the “three-needle, one-off” neck construction. Inspired by vintage American tees and refined through the brand’s own experimentation, this method employs thick No. 20 cotton thread stitched in three passes - two along the rib and one along the body. The result is a neckline that resists stretching even after years of wear.
